
Chairwoman
Annette is a multi-talented artist, community organizer, and dedicated caregiver with deep roots in the Southeastern United States and Texas. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she grew up bilingual in Spanish and English and speaks and reads fluent Spanish. She pursued studies in Spanish and Medical Terminology in college. She is a proud mother of one son and grandmother to two boys.
Creativity has always been a part of Annette’s life. She is a singer, dancer, and fine artist with a passion for pencil sketching—her favorite medium. Her love for music led her to a career as a professional session singer in her younger years, specializing in jazz. Even today, she continues to perform live on occasion. Recognizing her natural talent early on, her family encouraged her musical journey, and she received formal vocal training throughout her youth.
Beyond the arts, Annette is deeply involved in her community, continuously supporting local youth in various ways, she has worked to support local initiatives and uplift those around her. She has also served as a translator, helping individuals navigate resources and adjust to new environments. She also sometimes organized Indigenous events such as The Full Moon Fire Circle.
In addition to her advocacy work, Annette has spent many years as a long-term care provider for senior women with dementia, offering compassionate support to those in need.
Through her work in the arts, community service, and caregiving, Annette remains committed to uplifting and inspiring others.
