Akisha’s academic journey began at Temple University, where she majored in English and minored in Psychology, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then pursued her passion for storytelling and creativity, receiving a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. This strong educational foundation has enabled her to inspire students as an English professor, cultivating a love for literature and critical thinking.
In addition to her academic role, Akisha is a dedicated content creator and a certified permanent makeup artist based in Phoenix, AZ. With a following of 104k and over 35k views monthly on an international level, she has secured over 15 partnerships and brand deals as a content creator, showcasing her influence and commitment to her craft. Through her creative endeavors, she aims to uplift and support individuals on their wellness journeys. As the founder of the Alawa Seeking Knowledge brand, she promotes sound healing, holistic health and well-being through a range of indigenous products, services, and resources designed to encourage self-care and personal growth. Additionally, Akisha is the founder of Celebrity Brows by Akisha Jenee, a permanent makeup company that helps women enhance their natural beauty with cosmetic tattoos, such as ombre-shading, microblading, lip blush, brow tinting and brow lamination.
